Disability Management
This section provides the necessary steps to addressing health-related absences within ESDC. It provides guidance that supports managers and employees to work together according to their respective responsibilities.
Note : Reference to manager includes anyone with front line supervisory responsibilities, exercising both the appropriate level and limits of their delegated authority.
Basic principle : To ensure the employee can participate at full potential despite arising health-related situations, whether they are occupational or non-occupational in nature.
Goal : To reduce the incidence and duration of absence due to illness, injury or disability; consequently reducing human and financial costs (i.e. loss of sense of belonging to the workplace, premium costs).
