Road Map: Worker’s Compensation

The Government of Canada provides benefits to employees under theGovernment Employees Compensation Act. This service is administered through the Provincial or Territorial Workers’ Compensation Boards (WCB).

If the employee sought medical attention for a workplace injury, or is absent the day after the work-related accident, the employee and his/her team leader/manager are required to complete the appropriate Workers’ Compensation Forms, depending on the employee’s location and province of work.

The manager must also complete a Hazardous Occurrence Investigation Report, in accordance with the OHS Reporting Requirements.
