International Conflict Resolution Week is quickly approaching!

In this challenging year (to put it mildly!), we are once again celebrating Conflict Resolution Week at Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) from October 18th to October 22nd. In support of this enriching week, our team has planned many exciting activities.

Please consult the calendar of events to get more information on the activities and workshops that will be offered over the course of the week!

The Office of Informal Conflict Management (OICM) helps employees by acting as a neutral third party and offering them ways to prevent, manage and resolve workplace conflicts.

When should you call on the services of the OICM?

There are many good reasons to contact the OICM:

  • You've had a disagreement with a colleague and the situation is worrying you.
  • You find it difficult to work with one or more individuals.
  • The thought of going to work makes you anxious.
  • You've noticed tensions among your team.
  • You feel that one of your employees has personal problems that are affecting their work but you don't know how to broach the subject.
  • You don't feel equipped or confident enough to manage an ongoing or upcoming dispute on your own.
  • You're not sure who to speak to.

Whether you're dealing with a new or long-standing dispute or disagreement, tension in the workplace, or some other issue, you can contact us. Our door is always open.

Don't wait. A minor disagreement that's ignored or left unresolved can escalate over time and turn into a hostile, disruptive conflict for you and your environment!
