Purpose of the survey
The purpose of the Workplace Mental Health Survey (WMHS) is to hear directly from ESDC employees about their experiences in the workplace as they relate to psychological health and safety.
Results are used to gauge how we are doing, as a department, in ensuring that ours is a psychologically healthy and safe workplace where all employees can thrive. Results are also used to shape the departmental, branch and regional workplace mental health action plans (Action Plan 2018-2021).
Collection Period
The WMHS is administered every two years. ESDC first launched the WMHS in February 2017.

Using Your Branch/Region Report for Planning
The purpose of the Planning Guide is to help all employees understand the results of ESDC's WMHS; identify workplace areas of strength and concern; and use the results to guide planning activities.
Putting Survey Results into Action for Your Team
The PowerPoint presentation helps an employee read and understand the survey results. This understanding lays the foundation to allow for conversations on the workplace well-being of the department and of individual teams.
The purpose of the Team Discussion Guide is to support managers, supervisors and team leads to have discussions with their teams about their workplace well-being, using the WMHS results as a starting point.
