Furniture Purchase Roadmap — Initiation

In Phase 2, the client must submit all requirements for furniture, regardless of the estimated costs, whether Duty to Accommodate (DTA) or Non-DTA, for review and approval by Chief Financial Officer Branch (CFOB), Real Property Asset Management (RPAM), prior to purchase.

2.1 Define the requirement:

The client defines the furniture requirement, which can include, but is not limited to: Desk(s), bookcase(s), chair(s), filing cabinet(s), and keyboard tray attached to workstations, shelves/shelving, and other furniture such as; monitor arm(s), mobile white board(s), stool(s), and coffee table(s). Note: Computers, monitors, computer peripherals, phones are not furniture items and managed by Innovation, Information and Technology Branch (IITB). Visit the iService Catalogue for IM/IT Services under Computer and Devices Services.

2.2 DTA Furniture:

If the requirement is Duty to Accommodate (DTA) furniture, the client attaches supporting information provided by the report from the occupational therapist such as:

  • Picture(s), model, brand or manufacture;
  • Picture of space affected;
  • Complete financial coding.

Or attaches search results obtained from the Standing Offers and Supply Arrangements Applications (SOSA)

2.3 Authority

Prior to submission, complete financial coding and Section 32 approval from delegated authority is required.
