Managers
Whether you are a manager, or have a manager-access role in Saba, you have several key responsibilities to support your employees’ learning. From reporting on learning to maintaining an up-to-date org structure in My Team, this page serves as a helpful resource to guide you through all managerial Saba functions.

Obtain a manager role in Saba
To add Saba manager roles to your existing Saba account, contact the National Service Desk.
Delegate Saba authorities
If you are an Executive, you have the ability to assign a proxy, to allow another Saba user to access your My Team on your behalf. Please note that all actions performed by the proxy will be audited.
Manager tasks
Update team and manage reporting relationships
Your team and reporting relationships in Saba must be up to date at all times, to ensure accurate learning completion rates and results.
- To add a new team member OR if a current employee is missing from your team in Saba: advise the employee to Update their manager in Saba.
- To add a new team member who does not have a PeopleSoft profile, contact the National Service Desk to create a Saba account in the employee’s name.
- If you are hiring more than 10 new ESDC employees at one time, you can use our Bulk Saba Account Request Form (XLSX, 11 KB) to request the creation of their accounts. Open a ticket with the National Service Desk and attach your completed bulk request form to your ticket. Please note that it may take more than two business days to complete your request.
- To remove a team member from your list of direct reports, contact the National Service Desk.
- For major changes to reporting relationships, send a bulk request to the Learning Infrastructure Team at:
nc-siga-saba-apprentissage-ilms-saba-learning-gd@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca.

Reporting on learning
As a manager, it is your responsibility to support your employees in completing their training. Being able to monitor, track and report on learning is a key function for managers.
Essential training
As a manager or someone with a manager-role in Saba, you can easily report on your employees’ mandatory training by accessing the custom report links below.
- A Summary completion report provides high level completion statistics. Access these reports when you want to see an overview of curriculum completion.
- A Detailed completion report provides more information on the employee’s progress in the curriculum, such as the courses that have been completed and/or are in progress. Export these reports to Microsoft Excel to utilize this data.
Please have your Saba username and password on hand, as you will be required to login in order to make any changes.
