Corporate Security and Internal Integrity
A service to the Department that has the support of employees and is designed to ensure the protection and the security of all employees, contractors, students, agency personnel, clients, sensitive information, material and assets of the Department.

Internal Investigations
Allegations of serious wrongdoing, for example, preferential treatment, are reported by management to the regional security office. If warranted, the regional security office, with the approval of the concerned Assistant Deputy Minister, will request a mandate to conduct an administrative investigation to the Department Security Officer.

Personnel Security Screening
Security screening (security clearance or status) requests are sent to the regional security office in the region where the employee is physically located.
For reliability security screening:
Manager or employee submits the Personnel Screening Consent and Authorization Form (TBS33023) (PDF, 31 KB) to the regional security office.
For Secret and Top Secret security screening:
Manager or employee submits the Security Clearance Form (TBS33060) (PDF, 31 KB) and the Personnel Screening Consent and Authorization Form (TBS33023) (PDF, 31 KB) to the regional security office.For contractors and contingent workers:
Managers must submit security screening level (clearance/status) requests for a contractor/contingent worker to the ESDC Personnel Security Screening Unit for validation at the following email address: NC-INTEGRITY_SERVICES_PERSEC-SERVICES_INTEGRITE_SECPER-GD.For advice or guidance on employee security screenings contact the regional security office.
Security Advisory and Guidance Services
The Security Advisory and Guidance Services provide:
- Clarification/interpretation of departmental security policies, directives & standards;
- Review of Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) documentation;
- Review of departmental agreements (MOU, ISA, SLA, etc.) for security components;
- Participation in departmental working group requiring a security representative.

Security Incidents
Reporting a security incident that occurs while you are at work, teleworking or on travel status is very important in the Department's efforts to effectively manage and prevent incidents from happening. Security incidents, including incidents involving personal information, are to be reported to your manager as soon as possible. The Manager or Team Leader must report the incident using the online Web form (this web form replaces the ADM 3061). In cases where there is an immediate danger, call the Regional Security Office (RSO) directly so that measures can be taken immediately.
Employees and Managers can consult the Security Incident Reporting Protocol to determine where (and how) to report an incident or contact their RSO for more information.
Emergency Management and Business Continuity (EMBC)
Leads the Emergency Management Program for the Department and provides guidance and direction to branches and regions which supports them in establishing the planning necessary to continue the delivery of services and benefits to clients during an emergency or crisis situation.

Provide employees of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) with guidance on how to respond in emergency situations. Increasing level of readiness and response capabilities will minimize the initial confusion and response time.

Oversee the coordination and implementation of business continuity activities including providing employees and managers with guidance and tools for business continuity planning.
