2021 Deputy Ministers' Awards of Excellence

All ESDC Employees are invited to the 2021 DMAE virtual ceremony on October 13!

The 2021 Awards are inclusive so that ESDC employees can all join in the celebration from wherever they are. Just like streaming a TV series, all of the videos from the ceremony will be released at once.

Join us in congratulating and thanking all winners for their exceptional dedication, commitment and contribution to the Department's goals, as well as all employees for joining us in celebrating ESDC's incredible achievements over the last two years.

Tips on organizing a watch party with your colleagues

You can make this time special by organizing your own version of a watch party with your team by streaming the videos together while on MS Teams. Or why not dress up for the occasion and share photos with your team or on Twitter using the hashtag #DMAwardsESDC? Or you can even set aside a block of time in your calendars so the whole team can watch from their computers simultaneously. Get creative!

If you plan on watching the videos together with your colleagues on MS teams, here are some tips and tricks to make it a success:

  • Ensure the host has a strong and fast home internet connection and is using the Teams desktop application.
  • Test your hardware prior to the meeting to ensure it is properly working.
  • In case of issues, identify a back-up host.
  • When sharing your screen with your teammates, click the Include Computer Sound slide button.

Employee recognition

September 17 was about formal recognition, but it is important to remember that the day-to-day acknowledgment is just as, or even more important.

Day-to-day recognition is a key to success as it gives individuals at all levels, timely opportunities to recognize good work, as well as setting an example to other employees of desired behaviour that aligns with the organizational objectives.

Please visit the Gratitude to Go Toolkit for ideas and suggestions on how you can informally recognize employees.
