Financial approvals under the FAA

Below are clarifications on the options available for managers to provide financial approvals under the FAA. The Electronic Workflow in myEMS (SAP) remains the primary application to use when providing an electronic approval.

Important:

The digital options below do not replace the electronic approval done in the universal worklist in myEMS (SAP) if such workflow exists.

Other Methods:

In the event that Electronic Workflow in myEMS (SAP) is not possible, managers may provide financial approvals using one of the following Entrust compatible applications.

Wet signature icon

The wet signature is also acceptable while the department is improving all policies and systems toward a complete paperless environment.

Additional Information:

  • The intention of the digital signature must be clearly indicated. If not already stated, the signee must also indicate along with their digital signature, the nature of the certification/approval (e.g. S.34) of the content of all, or a specified part, of the document.
  • The final digitally signed version of an electronic document must be stored in the recommended electronic central repository (e.g., SharePoint, network drive). The central repository must comply with the Department’s Information Management requirements.
