Design Thinking

The process of Design Thinking “draws on methods from engineering and design, and combines them with ideas from the arts, tools from the social sciences, and insights from the business world to provide a glue that brings teammates together around a common goal: make the lives of the people they’re designing for better,” according to Stanford d.school (English-only link).

At ESDC, the Innovation Lab describes the design thinking process as having 5 stages:

  1. Empathy and Defining Problems
  2. Ideation
  3. Prototyping
  4. Testing
  5. Validating with Users

Below you will find a variety of courses and resources to support you in implementing this approach, which are organized by streams:

Many of the following learning activities are informal, so don’t forget to take credit for your learning by manually adding your activity to your learning history in Saba.
