  • How can I change the security questions and answers for my mainframe password?

    If you need to reset your mainframe password, the National Service Desk uses the security questions and answers from GCProfile to identify you.

    It is important that you choose questions and answers that you can easily remember, but are difficult for others to guess.

    To update or change you security questions and answers for your mainframe password:

    1. Either selectin the GCProfile icon on your desktop named "Connect My Drives - Connecter mes lecteurs"
      -OR-
      Start > ProfilGC-GCProfile > ProfilGC-GCProfile
    2. Select the Mainframe Password tab.
    3. Select 3 separate questions and provide answers.
    4. select Save to finish.
  • How do I use GCProfile to map a drive?

    Note: You must already have access to the requested drive for this solution to work. To request access to a new drive or folder, please contact the National Service Desk.

    Occasionally network connections discontinue, or you may be connected at a different location and want to establish a pathway to access network drives.

    To re-establish a network path to a folder:

    1. Close the folder.
    2. Either selecting the GCProfile icon on your desktop named "Connect My Drives - Connecter mes lecteurs"
      -OR-
      Start > ProfilGC-GCProfile > ProfilGC-GCProfile
    3. Wait for the process to finish and select OK.
    4. Try opening the folder to ensure the connection is established.
  • What do I do if the GCProfile window does not minimize?

    If you selected another tab within GCProfile while your Windows session settings are connecting, the GCProfile window will remain open.

    You can minimize or close the window manually once all the settings have connected.

    In the upper right-hand corner select the underscore to reduce the window or the “X” to close GCProfile.

  • What do I do if the Mainframe Password tab is blank?

    If the mainframe password tab in GCProfile is blank, close GCProfile and re-open it using one of these methods:

    1. Either selecting the GCProfile icon on your desktop named "Connect My Drives - Connecter mes lecteurs"
      -OR-
      Start > ProfilGC-GCProfile > ProfilGC-GCProfile
    2. Select the Mainframe Password Tab

    Follow these steps to find your computer information:

    1. Either selecting the GCProfile icon on your desktop named "Connect My Drives - Connecter mes lecteurs"
      -OR-
      Start > ProfilGC-GCProfile > ProfilGC-GCProfile
    2. Select the Computer Information Tab.
  • Simple and automatic connection method with GCProfile’s connection assistant
    1. To use GCProfile’s connection assistant, first normally log in to your computer with your standard username and password.
    2. Once you are logged in, wait for GCProfile to appear.
    3. Now follow the steps suggested by the connection assistant. (The assistant should automatically take care of proxy settings, start external Internet connection pages, launch FortiClient and give you information about possible connection problems).
