“Forgot your password?”Register to Reset Your Network Password in the Future
On December 6, 2016, ESDC employees were provided with the ability to reset their network password, should they forget it.
Once they have registered to Network Password Reset, employees can use the link “Forgot your password?” that now appears at the login screen to reset their network password on their own.

What is “Forgot your password?”
“Forgot your password?” provides employees with the ability to reset their ESDC network password should they forget it. There is no longer a need to contact the National Service Desk (NSD). But, employees need to register first.
Why do I need to Register?
Only employees who have registered will be able to reset their network password. If you’re not registered, you will need to continue to contact the National Service Desk if you forget your password.
How do I register?
Employees can register through the Registration – Network Password Reset icon located on their desktop. Follow the instruction provided on each screen and answer a minimum of 6 security questions. You will have 10 minutes to complete the registration process before it times out.

When can I take advantage of “Forgot your password?”
Once registered, employees can take advantage of the "Forgot your password?" link right away
Can I change the language of the registration screen?
Registration screens are displayed in the default language of your Internet Explorer (IE). To change language settings, follow the quick fix instructions for changing the language settings in Internet Explorer.
The language in which the security questions are displayed is according to your Preferred Language defined in PeopleSoft.
Do I have to answer all questions?
At a minimum, you need to select and answer 6 questions. You will have 10 minutes to do this or the registration process will ‘time out’. If you forget your password and want to reset it at a later date, you will be required to answer 3 of the 6 questions.
Are the answers to the security questions case sensitive and can I use special characters in my answers?
The answers you provide are not case sensitive and special characters can be used. However, answers must be at least 4 characters long and two questions cannot have the same answer. Each answer must be unique. It is also important to choose questions and answers that are relevant to you that you will remember.
Who has access to my security answers?
No one! The answers you give to the security questions can’t be accessed, nor retrieved by anyone - even you. If you are concerned about not being able to remember your answers, you may want to consider choosing other questions and/or answers.
Can I change my security questions and answers?
Yes. You can change your security questions and answers whenever you like, by using the Registration icon located on your computer (desktop). It will open the registration screen and from there you can modify your answers and/or select and answer other questions.

How were the security questions selected?
ESDC is committed to ensuring a secure and protected access to its electronic network. When accessing the Department’s network, employees must keep in mind the security of all information under the Department’s responsibility. Therefore, the set of questions chosen to allow you to reset your network password were carefully selected by IT Security according to Enterprise Cyber Authentication rules and Industry Best Practices.
How can I reset my password if I forget it?
You will notice a link called “Forgot your password?” located under the “User name” and “Password” fields of the logon screen. A click of this link will allow you to reset your network password.

Note: you must be registered for the service first in order to be able to reset your network password on your own.
Who should I contact if I’m having issues with registering or resetting my network password?
