Reference Tool: Assessing Core Competencies at ESDC
The purpose of this reference tool is to support managers in the assessment of the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) Core Competencies for performance management. Concrete examples of expected behaviors in various job roles (functions) at ESDC (including Service Canada and Labour Program) are presented.
How is the tool structured?
For each of the core competencies you will find:
- TBS Behavioral Indicators
- ESDC job roles (functions)
- Examples of expected behaviors related to indicators by job role (functions)
The examples of expected behaviors at ESDC are illustrative rather that definitive. In other words, other behaviors can be considered. In addition, behaviors are cumulative which means that the behaviors from lower functions apply even if they are not repeated in the higher functions.
