Occupational Health and Safety Training for Committees and Representatives

Description

Health and safety committee members and/or representatives will learn about their occupational health and safety obligations and duties, and those of the employer representatives and employees, under the Canada Labour Code, regulations, directives and departmental OHS program.

Participants will learn about the related programs, guidelines, procedures, resources and tools available to ensure and healthy and safe workplace.

Sections on internal complaint resolution, ergonomics, hazard prevention and violence prevention are included. 

Audience

All OHS committee members and/or representatives are required to take this module. Please note that if you are an employer member of your OHS committee and you have already taken OHS Training for Managers, you do not need to take this course.

Registration Process

Follow the instructions below to access the training.

  1. Go to the SABA website.
  2. Select your language.
  3. Log into SABA.
    • If you are a first time user, you will need to create an account (PDF, 272 KB) before proceeding.
  4. Use the Learning Catalogue search function, search for the course name or the SABA course code.
  5. Select a class based on the language in which you prefer to take the course and click Enroll.
  6. Wait for approval notification from your supervisor (You will be notified through Outlook and through the message notification function within SABA).
