OHS Bulletin 10-001 – Tracking Ergonomic Expenditures

OHS-10-001(4)
April 1, 2014 (Revised)

A message from the National Occupational Health and Safety Office to managers and procurement representatives

Tracking Ergonomic Expenditures

In an effort to better track ergonomic-related expenditures across the ESDC portfolio, the National OHS Office has consulted with internal stakeholders to implement the following tracking measures in SAP.

Internal Orders

A national Internal Order for SAP has been established to track expenditures for ergonomics.

Ergonomics - 80980

To track national and regional expenditures for ergonomic-related services, activities or products. This includes ergo assessments, training, and furniture or equipment purchased to support an ergo adjustment or assessment. This excludes ergo activities carried out as part of a Duty to Accommodate request.

The Duty to Accommodate Internal Order description has been updated.

Duty to Accommodate - 80981

To track national and regional expenditures for Duty to Accommodate needs as per TBS Policy on the Duty to Accommodate Persons with Disabilities in the Federal Public Service. Items acquired under this Internal Order remain with the employee throughout their career in the Federal Public Service, should accommodation still be required.

These changes are now reflected in SAP and have been added to the Financial Coding Manual.

General Ledger Accounts

The following general ledger accounts have been identified for common ergonomic-related expenditures and should be used in conjunction with the ergonomics or DTA Internal Orders, described above.
