First-Aid Certification

Description

Participants acquire the necessary skills to hold a valid basic or standard first aid certificate, in accordance with section XVI of the Canada OHS Regulations of the Canada Labour Code.

Individuals who serve as first aid attendants within their respective workplace

Delivery Method

  • National Capitial Region (NCR)

    In the NCR, First Aid Training course information and enrolment are available through SABA.

    Registration Process

    Follow the instructions below to access the training.

    1. Go to the SABA website.
    2. Select your language.
    3. Log into SABA.
    4. Use the Learning Catalogue search function, search for "First Aid and CPR".
    5. Select a class based on your schedule and the language in which you prefer to take the course and click Enroll.
    6. A training request will be generated and sent to your manager for approval.
      • Important: Please review your account in Saba to ensure that your personal information and coordinates are up-to-date; such as: the name of your manager to ensure that the training approval request is sent to the correct person.
    7. Once your manager has reviewed and approved your training request, you will receive an email confirmation containing additional information.

  • All Other Regions

    Outside of the National Capital Region, First Aid Training is provided in-person through qualified external providers. Please consult your manager for the appropriate registration procedures for your region.

    When you have successfully completed your First Aid Training, enter the completed training in the My Plan section of your SABA profile.
