Review and Update of a Position's Job Description / Reclassification of a Position
Information to consider before you proceed:
- If you do not have access to the Job Description you wish to use for the position, you can consult the National Job Descriptions Bank.
- If you need guidance to determine the language requirements of the position, consult the Official Language section.
Forms/documents:
Mandatory:
- Proposed Job Description signed and dated by delegated manager;
- Organizational Chart (must reflect the reporting relationship of the position) signed and dated by delegated manager.
If applicable:
- If you need to review and update the Job Description of more than one position, complete and attach the Review & Update of multiple positions Template (XLSX, 55 KB) to the HRSC request.
- If the position is outside of the business owner, complete and attach a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) (DOCX, 183 KB), signed and dated by both respective Assistant Deputy Ministers (ADM) to the HRSC request
- For a Financial Management (FI) position, complete and attach the Resources Susceptible to Influence Worksheet (DOCX, 40 KB) to the HRSC request.

To review and update a position's job description or reclassify a position, submit a request in the HRSC portal by using the Review and Update a position's Job Description Form and include mandatory documents, as well as additional documents (if applicable).
