PSGuide

PSGuide: What you need to know

This PSGuide is designed for ESDC designates to allow them to assist Managers with HR related work while using myEMS (PeopleSoft). It is recommended to review the PSGuide at your own pace, online, at the time of your choosing and in the official language of your choice.

Although reviewing the PSGuide is not mandatory for ESDC designates, it is strongly recommended that you navigate through the relevant components to familiarize yourself with the new system. For those individuals who have used PeopleSoft in a previous department, you will notice that there are some changes to this new Government of Canada version and that the designate views may differ from what you may have seen in another department. It is recommended that you take the time to navigate through some of the topics.

Some topics include changes to HR processes that need to be understood in the new operating environment. In instances where the HR processes do not require a myEMS (PeopleSoft) data entry, information, links to on-line forms and/or resources (i.e.: HRSC, iService) are made available within PSGuide with information to guide users.

Who Should review the PSGuide

The PSGuide is for employees at all levels who have been identified as a “Designate” and who assist Managers with HR related activities.

You should take the time to go over the topics even if you have used PeopleSoft in the past.

A myEMS (PeopleSoft) service desk has been established to assist users on technical issues. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to review the PSGuide so you better understand the access you’ve been provided as a Designate and working in myEMS (PeopleSoft).
