eLearning@ESDC

Many ESDC employees are continuing to work outside of their normal workplaces and in virtual settings. This certainly doesn’t mean that learning needs to take a back seat! Have no fear because eLearning@ESDC is here to connect ESDC learners – like you – with a variety of meaningful eLearning options, so you can continue to learn and grow while working from home.

Working outside of our usual workplaces, when possible, helps ensure our safety and the safety of those around us. However, working in a virtual setting can pose new challenges. The situation can also leave us feeling isolated, frustrated, or even a bit (or a lot!) stressed.

To help ESDC employees navigate their virtual workplace, this week’s 12th edition of eLearning@ESDC focuses on learning that will help you to not only survive – but thrive! – in our “new virtual normal”.

Did You Know?

COVID-19 has affected how all Canadians live and work. According to a recent survey, 56% of Canadians said COVID-19 was having a negative impact on their mental health.

As part of the Staying Connected initiative, a variety of learning opportunities have been developed – for managers and employees – to help you feel engaged, mobilized and empowered, despite these uncertain times.

Take care of your mental well-being: explore the Staying Connected Mental Health Learning Series on iService and register for the sessions of your choice today.

Act now: These learning offerings are available for a limited time only!

Looking For More Learning?

Data, cybersecurity and privacy may be some of the topics on our minds, now that we are working in a primarily virtual setting. Questions about these topics are not new, but the global COVID-19 pandemic and the new, virtual way of working has brought about a new urgency on the issue.

The Canada School of Public Service (CSPS), in collaboration with the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), bring you the New Economy Series: a new learning series that aims to support public servants in navigating the modern economy and in preparing for the ways it will influence day-to-day work. The first learning session of this series is now open for registration:

Guess What?

The CSPS Digital Academy was established to help federal public servants gain the knowledge and skills they need in the digital age and supports Canada’s Beyond2020 initiative. As we continue to work in a primarily virtual setting, these competencies have become more important than ever!

To support public servants at all stages of their learning, the CSPS is launching their new Discover Series this summer. This suite of foundational courses will introduce you to the mindsets, skills and techniques you need to succeed in the digital era.

Subscribe for weekly updates, so you’re among the first to know when this learning series is open for registration! In the meantime, be sure to explore the CSPS Digital Academy, for the latest tools and resources to support you in your virtual workplace.

On a Personal Note...

eLearning@ESDC was created in response to the COVID-19 crisis. As the situation has evolved, so has this bulletin! The College@ESDC is committed to continuing to providing you with learning options to support you during this period of change and uncertainty. We hope you enjoy this week’s recommendations and that you will tune in again next month.

Don’t forget! You can catch up on past editions of eLearning@ESDC at any time. All editions of eLearning@ESDC can be found on the Learning Never Stops page on iService (on network), the Learning@ESDC page on GCcollab (on and off network) and on Google Drive (off network).
