Evaluate

What You Need to Know

  • Information Management (IM) evolves with every document created, captured and received. IM requirements and classification structures should evolve as the organization matures and adds new programs.

  • Take the time to really assess how well information management programs are doing and to take corrective action to obtain better results in the future.

  • Ask yourself:
    • What is working well?
    • What can be improved?
    • What lessons have you learned?
    • Who can help you improve?

  • Evaluation will reveal opportunities for improvement, such as redesigning your shared drive folder structure so that you can actually find the information you need, when you need it.

  • Consult with your IM Specialist regularly and share lessons learned and ideas for improvement.
