Transcript

Welcome to the virtual tour of myEMS (PeopleSoft) version 9.2, designed specifically for employees.

Beginning on our login page, you will notice that we have a fresh new logo, to represent our modernized, upgraded system.

Next, we will log into myEMS (PeopleSoft) by selecting the official language of our choice, entering our username and password and by clicking the sign in button. As you can see, the way that you log into the system remains exactly the same.

Once you are logged in, accept the privacy statement.

You are currently on the Employee Self-Service homepage which offers a more modern and fluid navigation.

The Employee Self-Service menu has been replaced by tiles, everything that you as an employee needs from your human resources system is found right at your fingertips, with visuals that help guide you in the right direction. For example, let us look here at the Time tile. I can see an airplane and a car, this makes me think of travel and, the calendar reminds me of schedules and dates. I know right away that I need to click here for anything related to absences and schedules.

When you click on the Time tile, you will be directed to the Time page, where there are five tiles.

You will notice that most tiles on this page have names which are already familiar to you and will direct you to the corresponding pages, such as: Request Absences, Monthly Schedule and Absence Balances.

When you click on the View Requests tile you will be directed to a page that contains the same information as the previous Request History page, however there is a slight change in functionality on this page. Now, if you wish to cancel an absence, there is a whole new page that was designed to make cancelling your requests straightforward and efficient. You can access this page by clicking here on the Cancel Absences tile! To facilitate the cancellation of leave even further, your manager will also now have access to cancel your leave requests in the system, allowing them to perform cancellations on your behalf, when needed.

Next, we will return to your Employee Self Service homepage, with just a simple click right here on the left hand side of the screen. On this page, there are seven tiles, that provide you with the same options you had available to you in version 9.1, as well as some added functionality.

With this new interface, you also have the option to arrange the tiles in a way that works best for you! For example, I often use the Time tile so I will leave that one where it is and I also use the Manage Delegation tile quite frequently, so I can click on this tile and move it to the top of my screen beside the Time tile.

Now, let's take a moment to learn about the other tiles on your employee homepage, the My Information tile directs you to the Employee Dashboard.

If you click on the Manage Delegation tile or the Employment Equity Self-ID Form tile this will direct you to the corresponding pages of the same name.

The Personal Details tile contains all of your personal information, here you can view and edit your personal information and new with Version 9.2 you can even add a photo of yourself. Adding a photo is easy, click on the update photo link and with a few simple clicks your photo will be uploaded to your profile.

Returning to the main Self-Service homepage, we will explore the Departmental Directory tile. This is a new functionality for employees. Here you can view your own personal work profile which includes some interesting details, such as your contact information at work, your reporting structure and who your peers are. This tile also provides you access to an org chart based on the information currently contained in the system. When you click on the name of a peer or someone within your org chart, you will also be able to view their profile and photo if they have added one. We will click on the home button for a quick return to the employee homepage.

The final tile that is included on your homepage is the Employee Profile tile, clicking on this tile directs you to the page which contains the same information as the Person Profile page from version 9.1.

Next, I would like to direct your attention to the right hand side of the screen; here you will find various icons.

First, we have the Home icon, which when clicked on, will return you to your homepage.

Next, we have the Search icon, clicking on this icon allows you to use the search functionality.

Beside the Search icon, we have the Notifications icon; we will skip over this one, as it is currently not used.

The next icon is the Actions List icon, when you click on the icon you are presented with various options such as personalizing your homepage, and preferences as well as the sign out option. Within the actions list, you also have access to the PSGuide by clicking on the help button.

The PSGuide is a comprehensive online learning tool, designed to assist all ESDC employees when navigating or performing actions in myEMS (PeopleSoft).

The final icon on the top right hand side of the screen is called the Nav Bar.

By clicking on the Nav Bar, you will have access to view the most recent places you have visited, your favourites, the Navigator which replaces the main menu used for navigation in version 9.1., as well as the Departmental Directory.

We will return now to the Actions List, and sign out of PeopleSoft. Just a simple clicks and we are signed out.

Thank you for viewing the employee virtual tour of myEMS (PeopleSoft) version 9.2.
