Login Tutorial for AppGate SDP

Transcript

Hello and welcome to the video tutorial for AppGate SDP Remote Desktop connection. In this tutorial, I will go through the steps to login to AppGate SDP. Once we are logged in, I will then use Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection to remote or RDP to my workstation.

This video assumes that you have already installed the AppGate SDP client. If you have not done so already, please refer to the previous video on how to install the AppGate SDP client. As I walk through each step, please feel free to pause the video as your follow through on your PC. This will allow you to go at your own pace, and pause and play the video as you need. You can also refer to the User Guide as we step through this video on page 15 titled AppGate SDP Remote Access Connection Guide – Client Connection for Windows.

Let's get started.

To launch AppGate SDP, click on Start, click on the AppGate SDP folder, and click on AppGate SDP. Alternatively, you can also find that by clicking Start and type AppGate SDP and you can see the best match is the AppGate SDP app. Click on that.

Here, login with your domain username and password. Click Keep me signed in and then click Connect.

If this is your first time logging in, a few introductory tutorials will pop-up. Simply click Next. Continue through. Once you reach the main screen, you should see at least one icon on your screen. Click on it.

This will trigger the two-factor authentication and you can enter your e-grid response. Click Submit.

At the moment, this will open a window and just click on Press any key. AppGate does have the tendency to minimize itself once the focus goes away from it. To bring the window back up, click on the task tray and search for AppGate SDP.

Now that we're logged in and we've done the two-factor authentication, we're ready to start the remote desktop. To do so, click on the Start button. Type in remote desktop connection and you'll see the Remote Desktop Connection app. Click on that.

Once you see this window, type in your workstation computer name. In this case, mine is this and make sure you add the .hrdc-drhc.net suffix to your computer name. So replace this portion with your computer name.

For dual monitors, for the username, you can actually click on Show options and type in your username and add the suffix @hrdc-drhc.net. For dual monitors, if you do have dual monitors, click on the Display tab and select Use all my monitors for the remote session.

Since I'm using a single monitor, I'm turning that off and you can click Connect.

Now this will ask for your credentials. You want to double-check that it says your login ID @hrdc-drhc.net and then type in your password and click Connect.

When you see this screen, click on Don't ask me again and proceed with Yes. And there you go, it is now connecting to my workstation. I'm going to stop it from here. To close this actually, you can also click on the X up here. This will disconnect you from your remote desktop session.

To log out, bring the AppGate SDP client window back up from the task tray. Click on the three dots in the top right corner and click Sign out or Quit.

And there you have it. This concludes the tutorial.
