    1. The consequences can be serious:

    • letter of reprimand
    • suspension without pay
    • demotion
    • termination of employment

    2. Number of breaches per year:

    • 2013-2014: 120 breaches
    • 2014-2015: 71 breaches
    • 2015-2016: 69 breaches
    • 2016-2017: 69 breaches

    3. The most common breaches:

    • misuse of Government assets or funds;
    • preferential treatment; and
    • unauthorized or inappropriate access to information.

    4. Breaches resulting in suspension without pay, demotion or termination of employment:

    • fraud against a program administered by ESDC;
    • harassment;
    • theft;
    • conflict of interest, preferential treatment;
    • fraudulent fabrication of medical note for absence or sick leave; and
    • inappropriate use of travel card and leave.

    5. Breaches can be avoided:
