GCPASS - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • What is GCpass?

Essentially, GCpass is a new way to log in and the aim is to help streamline different system logins while allowing for a more secure login.

Users can go from having a different login and password for each system to having one. It will allow for one login for the following systems: myGCHR, TAP, GCDocs, CWA, GEDS and GCtools once fully implemented.

  • Why has no communication been released at ESDC about GCpass?

There was no communications put out at ESDC as it is not our system to maintain or support. This system has been implemented government wide by the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS).

ESDC’s role is to ensure users are able to log in to systems such as the Public Service Performance Management (PSPM) Application via Entrust and MyKey.

  • How is it different from the old way of logging in to the PSPM App?

The previous way to login to PSPM was via a JAVA applet program. That is now considered a legacy app and should only be used if users can’t login via GCpass; in which case they should open a ticket with the National Service Desk.

  • Why is there the option of a Legacy Sign In? Should I use it to connect?

The Legacy sign in is only for departments who do not support the new GCPass implementation. ESDC employees should not use this option to log-in.

  • How should I now connect to the PSPM App?

You don't have to do anything special, the change is done automatically in the backend of the application. Simply open the TBS Applications Portal (TAP) page as usual and click on Public Service Performance Management (PSPM.)

  • What is the advantage of logging in via GCpass?

GCpass has many benefits- the main one for the general user is fewer usernames and passwords to remember thus a more efficient and convenient way to log in!
