Task Lighting
Office work requires adequate lighting. Even when premises are fitted out to meet general requirements, a workstation often needs task lighting.
However, increasing the lighting is not recommended. The screen on your monitor is also a source of light, and task lighting could create additional reflection.
- Avoid lamps with halogen or incandescent bulbs.
- Use a fluorescent lamp instead, which shines its beam in a single direction rather than a diffuse pattern. This way, you reduce the risk of glare in your field of vision.
- Chose an articulated lamp whose position can be changed to suit the task being done.
- A lamp that has a dimmer or various light settings is preferable so that you can adjust the degree of light as required.
- Avoid placing a lamp where it can cause reflection, either on the screen or on your documents, and make sure it does not create glare in your field of vision.
