Keyboard Placement and Shortcut Keys

For placement of standard keyboards, the letter “B” on the keyboard should be aligned with the bellybutton. However this is not the case with split keyboards. In this case, the location where the keyboard is split should be aligned with the bellybutton.  The mouse needs to be located as close the keyboard as possible. You can also use some shortcut keys (PDF, 145 KB) which will enable you to use your left hand and rest the right one.

The height of the keyboard should be approximately seated elbow height.  The shoulders should be relaxed. Be careful not to increase or decrease the angle of the keyboard to an extent that will place the wrists in an awkward bent position.
