Brief Description of Life Experience:

I lost my best friend to suicide ten years ago and have been part of the “Let’s Talk” movement ever since. I work in public relations and am active in that professional community, so my advocacy work found voice in organizing workshops and attending conferences.  My husband left me in 2016 and I fell into a depression from which I have successfully recovered. It was – and still is – a daily battle. I have learned how to care for myself, how to navigate the many supports available to us, and the value of therapy. I have been the Mental Health Champion in my branch for several years, and have publicly shared my story to help others see that survival is possible. I know that the hardest part is asking for help.  I am here to listen, and to give you hope.
