Brief Description of Life Experience related to Mental Health:

I transitioned publicly in the workplace in 2008. I have dealt with many of the issues surrounding LGBTQ2+ individuals – depression, suicide and suicidal ideation, self-worth, fear, family issues, stress and stress management. I have had experience working with other LGBTQ2+ individuals in the community and from around the world. Currently, I am also a facilitator the Positive Space Ambassador program within the department. This is to bring awareness to all of our work units and make the workplace a safe space for you to be you. And to come to work as the real and authentic you.

As a result of my experiences, I have become and advocate and activist for LGBTQ2+ issues both within the department and with the union on a national level. I have been there as a supporter for my peers inside and outside of the department for a decade.
