Brief Description of Life Experience related to Mental Health:

I’m a recovering Alcoholic who also struggled with depression, anxiety, and low self-worth for most of my life. It was uncontrolled for many years which led to self-medicating with alcohol. When I drank, for a few hours, life didn’t seem as hopeless. My drinking adversely affected my life. I often found myself in conversations with management surrounding my performance. It was an excruciating cycle in my life, and I didn’t know how to stop. I drank daily for about 10 years.

When I reached my lowest, I asked my doctor for help, she suggested a 12 step program. I attended my first meeting in January 2017 and have since learned so much about myself. In that program I’ve learned that I am not alone and others struggle just as I did. I’ve been given tools that allow me to accept and love myself just as I am. I love the person I am today. I have taken steps to make my health a priority. I’ve quit smoking and lost 50 lbs!

I’ve embraced life and I love to get up in the mornings. I’m no longer isolated.

You don’t have to be alone in your struggles. I’m here if you’d like to talk.
