ESDC Employee Pride Network

The ESDC Employee Pride Network provide a safe forum for LGBTQ2+ employees and their allies to connect and discuss issues related to the promotion of a healthy and inclusive work environment for LGBTQ2+ employees. ESDC Employee Pride Network raise awareness and serve as a consultative body on issues that impact LGBTQ2+ employees in the Department, and help the Department to deliver its commitment to diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace. ESDC Employee Pride Network is independent and employee-led with no attachment to a specific Branch or working group. ESDC Employee Pride Network is accountable to its membership, with Network activities supporting the broader diversity mandate within ESDC.

Membership on the ESDC Employee Pride Network is open to employees of the Employment and Social Development portfolio, including Service Canada and the Labour Program. Membership is voluntary, and open to all employees who self-identify as LGBTQ2+, to employees who may be questioning their sexuality and/or gender identity, folks who may not feel comfortable self-identifying, and to allied individuals who do not self-identify within the LGBTQ2+ community. Members should share a common goal of creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.

The ESDC Employee Pride Network is managed by a Steering Committee of volunteers drawn from Network membership. The Steering Committee is sharing the responsibilities of promoting the Network and its objectives. The Steering Committee will generally be elected by the membership of the ESDC Employee Pride Network to serve for a two-year term.
