Specialized Organizational Services (SOS)

Did you know that Specialized Organizational Services (SOS) are there for you?

SOS has a broad network of mental health professionals who provide customized training and intervention sessions in the workplace to meet specific team needs.

Through our department’s National Service Agreement with Health Canada, all managers have access to Specialized Organizational Services (SOS) for mental health in the workplace, team building, stress management, as well as professional and organizational change management.

Specialized Organizational Services are offered across Canada on a cost recovery basis. The department has a dedicated SOS budget. If the demand for services meets the established criteria, the costs can be paid in part or in full by the department.

The criteria outlined in the Agreement include:

1. Mental Health in the Workplace
2. Management Support
   1. Individual Coaching
   2. Group Coaching for managers experiencing similar challenges
3. Stress Management Workshops
4. Change Management Workshops
5. Team Building and Effectiveness
6. Workplace Health Assessment (including assessment, recommendations, facilitation and support)
7. On-site Mental Health Professional, for situations where employees receive news or are communicated a decision that could have a high emotional incidence on them.
8. Case consult with a Mental Health Professional on HR related issues/situations where mental health illness/problems may be part or is the root cause of the issue.
