Compensation Web Applications


What is Compensation Web Applications?

The Compensation Web Applications (CWA) is a group of secure Phoenix Self-Service and Pension Self-Service applications designed to provide government of Canada employees with pay, pension and health care plan information.

Once enrolled to CWA, you will be able to:

  • Manage your direct deposit information
  • Manage your voluntary deductions
  • Report your time (extra duty/overtime)
  • Report your time (time summary)
  • Manage your information for Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP)
  • View your payroll statements (Pay Stubs, T4’s)
  • Pension estimates

How do I enroll in CWA?

By being registered to myKEY, you are able to access your personal information and make changes if necessary through the Compensation Web Applications (CWA).

To enroll in CWA, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Date of birth and
  • Your Personal Records Identifier (PRI).

How do I obtain a myKEY?

Creating a myKEY is a four step process that only takes a few minutes.

*** It is recommended to close all Internet Explorer windows before you proceed, to avoid potential conflicts between applications ***

Step 1 – Go to ORCA

The Online Registration and Credential Administration (ORCA) is a service that enables Government of Canada employees to securely create and manage their myKEY.

Step 2 – Sign me up!

The “Sign me up” page is to collect your personal details so that it can verify your identity and allow you to sign up. You will need to have the following information on hand:

  • Name;
  • Personal Record Identifier (PRI);
  • Government E-Mail Address;
  • Date of birth.

Step 3 – Obtain Authorization Code

If your request has been successfully processed, you will obtain an authorization code.

Record the Authorization Code on a piece of paper and check your government of Canada e-mail account for an e-mail.

Then, record the Reference Number supplied in the e-mail from the line “Your 8 digit Reference Number is: XXXXXXXX”.

Step 4 – Creating myKEY

  • Enter your myKEY Filename;
  • Enter your Authorization Code and Reference Number;
  • Create and enter a Password and ensure the Confirm Password is the same;
  • Select the Submit button to create your myKEY.

The myKEY - Success page is displayed when your request has been successfully processed.

How do I obtain a myKEY while I am on secondment?

A secondment is a temporary, inter-departmental move of an employee between two departments or agencies for which Treasury Board is the Employer. You maintain your substantive position in your home organization while performing the assigned duties in the host organization

Seconded employees can use ORCA to securely create and manage their myKEY.

  • Host (Secondment) E-mail;
  • Home Organization E-mail;
  • Personal Record Identifier (PRI);
  • Date of birth.

If your request has been successfully processed, you will obtain an authorization code.

Record the Authorization Code on a piece of paper and check your Host (Secondment) e-mail account for an e-mail.

Then, record the Reference Number supplied in the e-mail from the line “Your 8 digit Reference Number is: XXXXXXXX”.

An e-mail is sent to your Home Organization e-mail address warning that a myKEY is being requested on your behalf at another organization.

Step 4 – Creating myKEY

  • Enter your myKEY Filename;
  • Enter your Authorization Code and Reference Number;
  • Create and enter a Password and ensure the Confirm Password is the same;
  • Select the Submit button to create your myKEY.

The myKEY - Success page is displayed when your request has been successfully processed.

How Do I Access Pension/Gross to Net Tools?

Access to Pension/Gross to Net applications will be through the Compensation Web Application (CWA) Launch page. A Secure Electronic ID-Based Credential (myKEY) will be required to log into this page on CWA.
