Advanced Personal Notification (APN)

IT Conversion for the Information Technology (IT) Community

In recent years, the Government of Canada has continued to modernize and improve efficiency in the public service through various transformation initiatives. Through the Classification Program Renewal Initiative, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) is modernizing elements of the classification program to better reflect the reality of today's public service and to ensure that the job evaluation standards and qualification standards are modern, relevant and aligned with the work performed.

Advanced Personal Notification Process

The Advance Personal Notification (APN) is a personalized letter sent to each employee informing them of the proposed classification level of their substantive and/or acting position upon conversion. Salary rates are not included in the notification at this stage. The APN letter gives managers and employees the opportunity to discuss and address any concerns related to job evaluation results. Therefore, this notification does not provide grievance rights as oppose to the Official Personal Notification (OPN) where the IT classification and job description will be formally applied to positions.

Note: The following information addressed to CS employees who have received an email from their senior management, and includes the direct hyperlink to the advanced personal notification associated to their position.

Please find below the advanced notifications, organized by stream. If you are in need for Accessible Information and Communication Technology, please send, an email to the Classification generic mailbox NC-NWDB-BDTN-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca and we will be glad to accommodate you.
