E-Notification

E-Notifications allow Managers to notify employees of classification decision rendered on their respective position using electronic and web-based tools for efficient and timely delivery.

Classification notification

A classification notification is a formal written notification provided to employees when a classification decision is made in their position giving them the right to submit a classification grievance for 35 days following the notification. A classification grievance is a written complaint by an employee against the classification evaluation (group, sub-group or level) of the description of work he or she performs and assigned by management.

**The notification does not refer to the job content or the effective date of the job description which are resolved through the labour relations grievance process.**

Managers are encouraged to discuss positions and their associated classification with their employees. Informal conflict resolution practices may be used which leads to shorter delays, non-adversary and good long-term working relationships.
