National Bank Mastercard Acquisition Card

This guide sets out important phone numbers, the features of your card, as well as the details of the insurance program for your card.

Take advantage of all the features

Account statement

Log into Smart Data to get your statements. Once logged in, go to the link labeled Account Statement under the section Reports and Data Files on the main page. You can also access it via the taskbar under Account Activity and select Account Statements.

PIN management

Changing your PIN

  • If you know your PIN - Go to a National Bank ATM to change your current PIN.
  • If you don’t know your PIN – Go to a National Bank branch to receive a Temporary Authentication Code (TAC) which will expire after 30 minutes. You can then change your PIN by using a National Bank ATM.
  • Call Business Central: 1-855-270-6677.
    • A new PIN to be issued via Canada Post in 5-10 business days.
    • Please note that it is not possible to choose your PIN by this method. A random number will be provided and you can then change it through a National Bank ATM.

Forgot your PIN?

  • Go to a National Bank branch to receive a Temporary Authentication Code (TAC) which will expire after 30 minutes.
    • You can then go to a National Bank ATM change your PIN
  • If no National Bank branch is nearby, call Business Central at 1-855-270-6677. A new PIN will be issued via Canada Post in 5-10 business days.

Unlocking your PIN (after 3 incorrect tries)

  • Visit a National Bank branch and present 2 pieces of identification.
    • You will receive a Temporary Authenticator Code (TAC) that will expire after 30 minutes.
    • Go to a National Bank ATM to reset your PIN using the TAC.
  • If no National Bank branch is nearby, call the Business Central at 1-855-270- 6677. A new card and PIN will be issued to you via Canada Post in 5-10 business days. Upon reception of the card, call the Business Central to activate it.

Cash advances and balance transfers

Cash advances and balance transfers are not allowed on the Mastercard acquisition card.

Liability for transactions

You must notify us of any errors or irregularities appearing in your statement within 90 days of the statement date. After 90 days, the statement will be considered accurate. Fraudulent transactions must be reported immediately. You can contact us by phone at the coordinates indicated above.

Loss, theft or fraud involving the acquisition card

As soon as fraud, theft or loss of an acquisition card is discovered, notify National Bank immediately by phone.
