Acquisition Card - Intellectual Property and Security WebEx session

Are you familiar with the acquisition card policies, procedures and guidelines in relation to intellectual property (IP) and security?

Intellectual property is of utmost importance in the workplace. IP is defined as “all rights resulting from intellectual activity in the industrial, scientific, literary or artistic fields including all intellectual creations legally protected through legislation or common law.”

We must all be aware of the security issues related to our work duties.

As an acquisition card holder, you are strongly encouraged to take a few minutes to learn about how to protect government or personal information.

For more information, you can access a WebEx session explaining the importance of IP and the correlation between security and acquisition cards via iService.

Upcoming changes for Individual Designated Travel Card holders

If you are an Individual Designated Travel Card (IDTC) holder, please be aware that BMO Financial Group will be making changes to some features of the card and its statement. The following will be effective on your first statement following July 12, 2019.

Modification to Fees

  • Cash advance fees – the fee is changing from a fixed-fee structure to a percentage (2%) of the cash advance, regardless if advance is taken from a BMO or non-BMO branch or ATM.

Travelers should pay their travel expenses directly with the IDTC card and avoid using cash advances. Cash advances should only be used if there is no other means of paying for travel expenses.

It is also important that travelers be reminded that the use of cash advances for any other reason than paying for ESDC related business travel expenses is strictly forbidden and could lead directly to disciplinary measures.

Modification to the Presentation

  • Interest / late fees – interest for late payments will now be referred to as “late fee” on statements.
  • Statement content – your available credit will now be included at the top of your statement. BMO is changing the wording from Balance Due to “New Account Balance”.
  • Payment – you will see your payment reflected on your account balance 1-2 days from receipt of payment (regardless of payment method).

For more information, please refer to “Important Messages” in the HRG Shared Travel Services portal.
