Vision for YMAGIN’S Green Committee

The YMAGIN Green Committee rests on the same 4 pillars as the YMAGIN Network : engaging, networking, facilitating and influencing. Its overall vision is to:

• Provide opportunities for young and young-at-hearts in ESDC to discuss and develop initiatives related to the environment and sustainable development in the Department.
• Support the advancement of the sustainable development agenda in the Department, while also developing a sense of belonging and of empowerment to its members.

Structure

The YMAGIN Green Committee is supported by 2 co-coordinators.

It is also supported by the national YMAGIN executive, made up of National Capital Region and regional chairs and vice-chairs. They are themselves supported by two national champions (EX level).

Our Activities

• Develop articles and a Newsletter focusing on green and sustainable development content for YMAGIN members and ESDC employees.
• Outreach activities to collaborate and share information with other green/sustainable development committees in ESDC.
• Develop a web platform that promotes the green and sustainable development agenda in ESDC.
• Organize town halls to allow for YMAGIN and ESDC employees to learn about all the green/sustainable development initiatives undertaken in the Department.

Who Can Join?

We are happy to welcome any young or young-at-heart that works within ESDC - in the National Capital Region or in one of the 4 regions - who is motivated to get involved in greening and sustainable development activities in the Department. You don’t need any particular skills or knowledge to join, but your drive to participate in discussions and the development of some the committee activities will be welcomed.
