First Month
You are greeted by one of your colleagues at the front desk;
You are provided with a Department overview;
You meet with your manager to discuss your Performance Agreement;
You are introduced to the team;
You review the Department Mission, Vision, Values;
You discuss developmental opportunities.
You obtain identification card/building pass access;
You review the value & ethics code;
Your email account has been set up;
You review Terms and conditions of employment;
You receive a tour of the office (workstation, emergency exist, washroom, kitchen/lunchroom, mailbox, office supplies, printer/photocopier/fax etc);
You are provided with a work unit overview;
You have all the right tools and access(applications/softwares) to start work;
You review service standards;
You have the instructions to set up your voice mail and record your voice mail greeting;
You complete Emergency contact list in my
EMS
(PeopleSoft);
You complete all required forms & send to your Manager who will return them to the Human Resources Service Centre (
HRSC
), including:
- Direct deposit request form;
- Tax form (
TDI
and provincial tax forms);
- Health Care Plan form (If applicable);
- Life Benefit form (If applicable).
You complete Self Identification survey;
You are registered on the electronic directory and
GEDS
;
You register to the Compensation Web Applications (If applicable);
You complete the Oath or Solemn of Affirmation.
You register with the Canada School of Public Service for mandatory Public Service Orientation training;
You review and sign up for mandatory training &
ESDC
Orientation Session.
You and your manager complete the Occupational Health and Safety (
OHS
)
